To celebrate the life of beloved actress Maureen O’Hara, Turner Classic Movies(TCM) will be showing her movies for 24 hours on Friday, November 20th.

As part of the marathon, four movies co-starring Maureen O’Hara and John Wayne will be shown: McLintock, Big Jake, The Quiet Man and The Wings of Eagles. All of these films are well worth watching, but we are especially fond of the western films “McLintock” and “Big Jake.”

In the lighthearted western “McLintock,” Maureen O’Hara stars as the cultured, frustrated wife of boisterous, cattle-ranching husband Wayne. In the seventies action western “Big Jake,” O’Hara is the strong-willed wife of tough-as-nails Wayne. (Big Jake is also the last movie that John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara made together.)

Both of these westerns are classics and will add to the pleasure of watching the day’s movie tribute to Maureen O’Hara.

So mark your calendars for November 20th and turn your television to Turner Classic Movies for a day of great films, especially the O’Hara and Wayne westerns.
